Frustrated at weight plateau Topic

When I first started out in June 2018 weight loss seemed easy. I stuck to a 500 calorie a day deficit and lost 2 stone in 6 months but since September ish it's really slowed. I've kept as close to the 500 calorie deficit as possible and log everything. And I run 3 miles every other day. But since September I've only lost 10lbs and more than often continuously yoyo between 159 and 155 lbs so it's not even 10lbs anymore I've heard that you can get so used to your exercise routine that it stops having any effect. Winter weather restricts my run opportunities and enthusiasm and I'm doing some weights at home to change things around. What can I do to kick start things again? It's getting really boring now and I was getting so close to my target weight.

I like using Fitnessblender.com it helps me workout because they have so many workouts, from Pilates to HIIT, strength training, and so much more. Not sure if that’s what you meant that you would like new workout ideas, but I hope it helps.

Hello Falcieri,
Weight plateaus can be frustrating! Especially if you were doing well and the scale was reflecting your hard work. Do not lose hope! Weight plateaus are very normal. Here is an article I think you may find useful on weight plateaus:

A few questions for you- Have you recently been using a food scale to weigh your food before you eat? This can help ensure you are estimating food intake as accurately as possible. Over time, research shows that we all tend to eat slightly larger portions and don’t realize it.
Here are 2 articles on portion estimation and logging:

I second Araylitch’s advise on fitnessblender. I think they have great free workouts! I like to use them when my schedule is so crunched I can’t make it to the gym. Changing up your workout routine is a great way to break a plateau. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a good week! Joanna (Dietician)
