Getting Cruise Ready and beyond! Topic

January 24 to today (March 14) - My husband & I are both 66 years of age. While using the My Net Diary app, our Lescale body weight and more scale, our Apple Watches, along with our twice a day workouts on our treadmill I’ve lost a total of 20 pounds!!! My husband has lost 33 pounds! My sister and I are each others accountability coaches. We encourage and inspire each other to stay the course, especially on the plateau days.

We are so excited that it’s finally coming off with our efforts. Both our cholesterol levels were very high. My husband agreed to the medication, I would not. I am determined to do this without drugs. He’s be rechecked and his cholesterol is back in normal limits. I haven’t been retested yet. I’ll wait until the end of March.

Early on, my husband could barely make it up and down the stairs in our house. The doctor wanted him to take a stress test. The challenge was trying to get an appointment. Well that never happened. We kept focused on our initial goal (our health) as well as our upcoming cruise in April. We want to be able to walk all over the islands we’ll be visiting as well as the ship without running out of breath or in physical pain.

We do give ourselves a free day to eat whatever we want. And this makes it easier as well as we notice our food choices, taste buds and how much we are able to eat has changed. I’ve been serving our meals on a salad plate and no second servings. Our tummies have shrunk so we don’t eat as much food as we used to.

My own mother is almost 94 and I want to outlive her! Her goal is to be 100 years old. She’s still pretty active and still drives. We are excited to reaching our goals and to watch our 10 grandchildren (hopefully more soon!) grow up. This is definitely a life style change. We just need to remember to keep moving and making better food choices.

I still would like to ideally lose about 60 more pounds and fit into a size 9-10 again, but I will take it a day at a time and stay the course. My husband’s goal is to lose 40 more pounds.

I highly recommend others to use this app as much as possible. I’m sure I have yet to see and use all its capabilities. I will just have to play with it more. Creating recipes is fun and is getting easier to do.

This is so encouraging! Thank you for sharing your story!

I too am using the app to get ready for a cruise this December. Good luck and thanks for sharing your story.

Today was my one week weigh in and I’m down 6.8 pounds. I’m using this app and Wegovy. So far all is good. I have used this app before and it was extremely helpful.

Good luck on your journey and enjoy your cruise. I just want to wear a size 12 again.
