Hello! Topic


Thought i would join this group to give and receive some support. My name is Alyssa, i'm a university student from Toronto Canada. a few weeks back i decided to finally make the change to become a more healthy person. i've lost 30 pounds since and am feeling great. while the first 20 pounds were quick to loose its become a much slower process. i've been counting calories, eating healthier foods and exercising (i must admit i don't enjoy exercising really, i'm an artsy/political type lol). hope to meet some nice people here to share with cause none of my friends or family members are really in the same position as me and the only advice i get is 'don't eat carbs!'


Hi Alyssa and good luck. I really hate when you tell someone that you are trying to lose weight/eat healthy/whatever and they give you some "simple" advice like that one little grain of advice is the only thing that's been preventing you from losing weight.

I don't mind exercising but I can't do it just for the sake of doing it. It needs to be fun for me. I played sports in high school, now I take my dog for walks or chase my kids around at the park. I have no desire to get on a treadmill and stare at a wall for an hour!

There are some very supportive people here but the forums aren't as active as one may hope. Again, best of luck to you.
