Hello 40-something-year-olds Topic

Hello All,
Nice to read so many posts that "speak to me". I too have struggled with weight life long pretty much. The yo-yo dieting, yep, did that too. Stress helped me get to my all time high of 238#'s and at 5'5" I felt like a whale. Sorry, but true. ;) Over the past few years I have slowly loss some of the weight, then winter decided to make a better effort. Was able to get down to 188# bu then once again struck down by family issues, and oh yeah, called upon my "teddy bear" aka food, and lots of it. Well, with hard work things are better family wise and we are back on track and an even better and stronger family. Now, for the first time I am not thinking of dieting, I am simply trying to change my lifestyle. Sa far January has been an excellent month. I exercise almost daily and find that exercise doesn't seem to be the "burden" it has always been for me. I am tracking my calories which is so helpful, even on the days when I want to go for a burger and a beer I still track. And it's okay if I go over once and a while. I guess I am approaching this weight loss journey with less stress and anxiety when compared to my previous attemps. I find a quick journal note is helpful too, especially on days when I struggle. Joining a group with similar issues and age will be helpful too. So, hello to each of you. I am here and will do whatever I can to assist others in their journey. Hope to make this a beneficial group and add this as another "lamp to light" along my journey. Thanks all!!

Life'sAJourney -- keep up the great attitude and best of luck to you! That "teddy bear" is hard sometimes - I hope you can find something to replace that need and help you on your journey. Because Life Is A Journey ... make it a good one!
