I used to be on this board and I am returning. However, it doesn't seem like anything current is being said. So if you are still on this group and would like to communicate please let me know! Have a great day!

Found my way back here. 63yo female and celebrating a milestone today. Over the last six months of hard work, I've made my way from obese to the normal BMI range. (Still want to lose 5-10lbs more.). I was able to go off my BP med and Prilosec, too. I did it using MyNetDiary, a habit I know I will need to continue for life to maintain my healthy habits. Best tool ever! I really love it! The how? Diet plan: 1200 calories/day, 50g or less of carbs/meal, 1500g or less of sodium/day, 21-30g of fiber/day, no fast foods, no refined sugar, mostly ate chicken & fish, 100g or less cholesterol, etc. whew! a major diet overhaul BUT I feel so healthy now. Exercise: walked on treadmill for an hour each day (3 miles); upper body weights twice/week; recumbent bike almost daily 40 min, stretching, a few abdominal/core body exercises a few times/week. Took a few rest days as needed. Sounds like a lot but that's what it took for me. Now I need to begin to devise a maintenance plan. Need to research what food(s) to add back to my diet, etc.

Congratulations! Your hard work has really paid off. You are an inspiration, and even though I am unable to exercise in that way, I applaud you for your spirit and tenacity.
Sue.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this group stuff. I'm 62 and before I die I am going to get my act right and loose all this weight I don't need to be carrying around. Hope there's activity on this group. This was one of the few that actually had a post in November of this year!
I'm really looking for motivation - so if there's anyone out there willing to share their motivation - I would love to hear it.
Thanks

My motivation MFergie is that I too want to live long and healthy. I get discouraged with having to take steroids in order to live. Weight gain on hydrocortisone is usual..but gee whiz 40 Lbs?
With the weight gain came high blood pressure and even more medication. I am determined this time...just like you.??????
