hello everyone Topic

what do you think of a cheat day or meal or reward meal

Bad idea. Using food as a reward is negative training. I know its part of how I got here in the first place. Instead go to the movies, or the beach. Use activities you enjoy that dont involve caloric intake.
I go to the mall, to the movies, take a drive, play in the pool with my kids.
The days where I miss are not rewards, but instead are slips. Old habits die hard. Lately I have been craving hooters. I have set in my head to go eat that I need to pay for it up front, so extra calorie burn to the tune of 8K to 10K extra to go to hooters, but again that is negative training. Its the desire to do it that I am fighting and much harder nut to crack.

I respectfully disagree. Not with the mindset of rewards are not equal to food intake (I get a nail design myself with each five lb. loss) but the cheat day concept. From all I have read and personally experienced a day of relaxing the rules a bit or even just a meal seems to jump start another weight loss drop. I think it has to do with confirming to your body you are not starving it or depriving it of essential fats, etc.. Of course this only works if you are pretty rigidly watching your intake, a series of cheat meals or days isn't going to help do more than break your stride nutritionally.

I just try to eat health most of the time. I do not worry about a bad meal or even a bad day as long as I focus and do well most days. If I eat healthy 90% of the time so I find I can eat the bad stuff in moderation. There are times when you have to focus and skip the bad food to burn some weight but this has to be a lifestyle not a chore. You have to enjoy the things you like from time to time. Otherwise you will fail. I can't imagine a life without brownies.
