Hi to all,
I'm a ballerina and yoga-enthusiast, I believe that we all have a path and journey to share and grow from. I'm currently needing to lose weight for my future ballet company, I was off for 4 years, and gained a lot of weight during that time. I'm currently training with a Russian ballet coach, and on a happy journey to find my way back to a professional ballet career. My goal is to be happy and healthy in my weight-loss journey, I've struggled with different types of eating disorders, and hope to share my own struggles so that I can be a light to others who may experiencing the same difficulties in weight loss or body-image.
I am not trying to be something I am not, I want to be healthy and strong. I'm learning that some days I mess up on my diet, other days, I'm completely happy, and content in my life and I triumph. I practice yoga to deal with my daily stress and learn that I take one breathe, one step at a time, and I think this new community is a great way to share feelings and daily struggles.
It's all a journey in life and it's often better to share your lives with people going through the same daily struggles. Each day I try to focus on the positive, always moving forward, and try my best not to allow people to get the best of me. I learned from practicing Yoga that it's okay to fall, it's okay to mess up, what's important is learning that you have the power to change one thing, right now, but what takes a long time is consistency. Embrace your power to change in every moment, take each breathe, and one moment at a time to truly live a happy and full life!

Hi CourageousYogi! It's great to see you seeking balance and peace with your body and your eating. I am a singing teacher and work a lot with dancers and see what microscope they are put under, and that they put themselves under. I also deal with compulsive overeating, and that learning it's okay to fail without abandoning all hope is a difficult lesson for me. When your body is your instrument, (I'm also a professional classical singer) it can compound those feelings. I hope that yoga brings more joy to your life and that you can remember to breathe in those tough moments. And you find a supportive group of folks here!
Very Best,

Hi CourageousYogi,
I'm a dancer too. I was badly injured and obviously not dancing became very depressed. I put on loads of weight and then was diagnosed with bulimia.
I've been trying to find more balance and peace but it can be so hard sometimes.
If you want to talk anytime I'll be here :)
X
