Hey all,
I recently started my weight loss journey, so I'm new here! :)
I have the MyNetDiary iPhone app, to track my weight loss. One thing that I noticed is I've not been eating enough fiber during breakfast. What are some healthy low-calorie low-carb high fiber foods?
I eat a lentil soup/ vegetarian chili or a sprouted mung muffin that I bake with no flour. Just looking for quicker breakfast options. I notice that oatmeal & walnuts have a high carb content, so I'm staying away from those. I eat wild rice for my other meals, so gotta watch my carb content during breakfast!
Have you guys heard of chia seeds? Are they any good? I saw them at my local Costco the other day - so just curious!
Thanks so much y'all ! Looking forward to hearing from you guys! :)

I have actually tried chia seeds recently. They don't have to much flavor. I add then to my smoothies for extra fiber. Make sure to only add a small amount to start as they will mess with the texture, maybe 1 tsp. I've also put them in pancakes or just sprinkled on a salad. They have similar benefits to flax, but you don't have to grind them up.

Flax seeds!!! 2tbs ground are 70 calories and 4 carbs.. But all of those carbs are fiber so they don't count! I add them to all natural peanut or almond butter and a little cream. So good!! Or add it to a smoothie, or even make a porridge out of it. I do 1/4 cup ground flax seeds, 1/4 cup water and a little honey and cinnamon. It's so good!! And incredibly filling for less than 250 calories.

I've been making a lot of 'green smoothies' lately. Basically two cups of water, a handful or two of spinach, romaine or whatever other kind of lettuce you like, a couple stalks of celery, two of 3 'servings' of fruit and the juice from half a lemon. This generally makes 3 servings for me, so once I'm done with a batch, I store it in a mason jar in the fridge and it's good for a few days worth of breakfast and I'm NEVER hungry after one. I think it's all the leafy greens.
I think my favorite concoction so far is 2 handfuls of spinach, two hadnfuls of romaine, 3 celery stalks, an apple, a pear, and 1 frozen banana. Sometimes I'll add a half cup of nut milk to make it creamy. It's really surprising yummy and refreshing.
