Hitting wall after 70 pounds Topic

Yes 73 pounds and still going. Or at least trying. It is exciting to see it come off in 6 months but that wall is getting higher. Help out with your support. I am shooting for 100 pounds and a size 34 waist.

Hi Ovie! Congrats on that 73 lb - awesome accomplishment. Many people experience the crawling weight loss as they near their goal. Or sometimes, they simply plateau for a while. Here are some things to try:

1. Review and tighten up food tracking. Most of us drift a little bit and start guessing more often vs. measuring, go out a bit more, etc. Is there any habit that you are doing more often now? For me, it is almost always a bump up in my liquid calories.

2. Keep tracking daily. Increasing the number of skip days can stall us - it is just human nature.

3. Check your activity. Has something changed in your routine that has caused less time in activities of daily living, less walking, fewer exercise sessions?

4. Switch up your exercise routine. Sometimes just adding 10 minutes here and there helps nudge the weight loss along (I do this and not bump up my calories intake).

5. Check your settings. I started to slowly gain from maintenance when my activity level was at low active but my job changed an in reality, I had changed to sedentary. So, when I logged exercise, I was essentially double-counting those calories. It wasn't much, but it was enough to cause a small uptick in weight over weeks.

Let me know if you need more ideas.

it might be helpful to share your data with us so that we can help you troubleshoot. I would be happy to take a look at your data and share some feedback. You can send me a friend invitation via web program to: kisacks@mynetdiary.com Under "Sharing Diary Options," choose the 3rd option, "Send invitation to become friends and share my diary (e.g. I want to share my diary with my dietitian or coach.)"

Celebrate your accomplishment to date - you have made a profound impact on improving your health - even if you do not lose another lb!
