How do I keep myself from binge eating? Topic

Hi U 1188367685- Thrilled to hear you have found this strategy that is really helping your weight loss! I am curious to hear what types of foods you turn to that are perhaps high in fiber and water to help you to feel full,,,,, without going over your calorie budget? I know others would find this information helpful as well.
Thanks for sharing. Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Being intentional with food. eat your meal slowly in 20 minutes. Feels like a mediation. And ofc what everyone else here has said !

If you want something, have it. Everything fits in moderation. Say you want some cookies, fit 1 into your day somewhere. You can do it, it may seem hard but it takes strength and discipline.

Hello U1188951942- Thank you for sharing these suggestions. I think moderation is key! In fact some people find they meet their nutrition goals and do not feel deprived if they follow the 80:20 principle.
80% of the time eat a diet of whole foods, moderate portions and 20% of the time work-in treats and less nutrient dense options. I think this strategy works especially well this time of year. There are lots of holiday/special-occasion foods around this time of year. Avoiding them completely may lead to binges or feeling deprived.

One of the best things that I ever learned in my diet journey is you only have to say no at the store once instead of having to say no at home several times. Don’t buy it at the store and you won’t have it at home.

Sage advice! Since we are at home more these days, this strategy really makes a difference. Happy New Year! Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)
