How effective is this app compared to MyFitnessPal

Thanks for your question. MyNetDiary has over 1,310,000 professionally-entered and verified foods with accurate information and does not include crowd-sourced foods in the database. Therefore you can rely on more accurate information while tracking to help you meet your goals.

Here is a link with more information on comparing the two apps.

Hope this helps! Brenda (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I had my fitness pal for 2 years. I find this so much more helpful especially in managing my nutrition, not just calories

Hi U1194323433- Thanks for the positive feedback! We are glad to hear you are finding the app helpful and easy to use. Cheers to tracking~ Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I think this app is better than my fitness pal. I came here at first because my fitness pal is now a money grabber. But here you have the help of real registered nutritionist. The blog article always helps a lot. The food in the database is verified which is not the case with my fitness pal. The consumer services are ULTRA FAST. I have never seen a consumer service so fast.

The only thing that bugs me a little is this app is still very American. I mean sometimes there is different regulations concerning food depending on the countries. And sometimes some countries are more up to date with their regulations than others based on recent research. I think the only improvement this app could have is to be more international in their database or mentioning the food label is from which country.

Most importantly, the app should be more independent of any country and just be based on the consensus of the scientific community.

For exemple the latest American guidelines for healthy eating didn’t listen to what the scientific community suggested. (probably because of lobbies and politics). The same happened in Canada.

But all in all, this is the best app backed by real health professional which is better that many other apps

I am much happier with this app than MFP, which has become a money grabber for sure. Stella, I’m curious what the scientific community suggested for healthy eating guidelines, where would one find that info? I feel like the recommended 2000 cal a day seems excessive!!!

Hi Stella_Celeste-
Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate you taking the time to share what features you find helpful as well as ways to improve the app. As an American-based app we use the Dietary Guidelines and USDA as references which are backed by science. This article goes into further detail around the equations used in the app: https://www.mynetdiary.com/calorie-planning.html
-In addition, you can customize your nutrient targets in the app. This article explains how: https://www.mynetdiary.com/personalized-nutrition-plan.html
-I am curious to hear more about where you feel the Dietary Guidelines fell short, compared to the guidelines proposed by the scientific community. I will pass along your feedback to our developers. They appreciate hearing from individuals who use the app.

Cheers to tracking! It is a powerful way to see how our eating habits impact our health goals. Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I was with MFP for 10 years and vow I would never leave. Once I found MyNetDiary a haven’t looked back. It is much better.
