How much do you think.... Topic

After a large weight loss how much do you think the hanging skin etc (pretty picture) adds to weight? I know it takes 1 year for the skin to go to its maximium contraction. That is why a good plastic surgeon will not touch you for that one year so they can see how much will go back on its own. I will not go that route but it has to weigh something. I don't think dieting will remove it but I amy curious. Anyone have any input?

No clue, but I don't think it would be that much, unless there's a layer of fat underneath. But honestly, I have no idea.

Think I found a new used for duct tape-lol

That is an interesting question, Fran. I have no idea. Maybe several pounds if I had to guess.

Kathy

Skin does weigh a fair bit, not as much as muscle but more than fat due to the fact it contains more, vessels etc.

When I get to my goal, if I had excess skin I'd definitely look at having it removed.

Would think it as to weight some amount of pounds. I am having my measurement/fat done weddnesday.KJnow at this point bady fat is not an issue as it was ok 15 pounds ago.I will see what they have to say there, of course that Depends on the weather Wednesday as they cancel with snow. Glad I am in maintainence there as they have cancelled more this winter than it seems they have had it.Not that much support there. Thank God for all of you

I bet your measurements will come in just fine! I find it very hard to exercise when the temps dip this low, even though I'm in a comfortable environment. I just wake up feeling tired, even with 8 hours of rest. It's as if my body wants to sleep 10 hours on extra cold nights - to hibernate like a little ground mammal.

Kathy

Ha! My hot water shower pipe froze on Goundhog's day - I'm not buying it.
