How to log Steps Topic

Happy New Year everybody! I hope we all can improve our fitness in 2019.
I received a new Garmin Vivoactive HR watch/tracker. So I can get a daily step count from that and enter it in my step log. However I also walk an hour per day which adds about 7000 steps to my daily count. I log that 1 hour of walking as walking for 1 hour at 3.5 miles per hour. Should I also include the 7000 or steps walked during my 1 hour walking in my daily step count? I guess I'm asking if the number of steps we log are converted into calories, etc. or is it just counting and logging daily step counts?
Thank you.

Hello Mark998,

What a nice gift for tracking your exercise! That is a great question that many people ask.
MyNetDiary automatically subtracts out estimated steps from all walking, running, and jogging exercises logged. This prevents overestimating total calories burned from Step Bonus. If you use the built-in GPS Tracker yet another latest addition to MyNetDiary’s iPhone apps!) then you are safe.

Here is the full article on using trackers with MyNetDiary.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further explanation.
