I hit my first goal today! — I’ve lost 55 pounds so far! Topic


On March 7th of this year, I weighed in at 255 pounds. At 5’ 7” tall, that is not a healthy weight.

So, I decided to do something about it.

I’ve tried a lot of different methods over the years, and knew I did not want to go the low carb route (too restrictive), and that I wanted to use a method based on science.

I decided the method I wanted to use lose weight was just to eat fewer calories every day than my body requires on a very consistent basis.

To do that, you have to know your numbers first. How many calories do I consume each day? How many calories does my body need a day to sustain itself? How many less calories are required to lose weight?

I decided to find an online food tracker to help me with all that, and I really found a good one in MyNetDiary.com — It is an AWESOME food tracking system app! I could not be happier with it.

It makes it easy to track calories & nutrients, and it’s barcode scannable food database is the best I’ve ever seen. You can build recipes, and repeat meal tracking could not be easier. The daily & weekly feedback the app provides is informative.

On March 7th 2021, I was at 255 pounds, and I set my first goal at losing 55 pounds by September 1st of this year.

I did not quite meet my original goal date, but this morning I stepped on the scale, and the first number was not a 2 for the first time in a very long time! 🙂

Today I weighed in at 199.4 !!!

Now… I get to set my next goal! — At my height, just to get to the very top of “normal” on the BMI chart, I need to be below 160 pounds.

I am setting my next goal to be at 160 pounds by this time next year.

52 weeks to lose 40 pounds is doable, but will not be easy by any means.

Everything is easier without that additional 55 pounds weighing me down, and it really feels good… But, I want to feel that last 40 off my back as well.

So, off I go! 🙂
