Hi all, I'm new and excited to be here. Look forward to losing weight and getting fit with you all. Also it will be great to hear about the big 'M'. I'm just starting it.

I am new to this group as well. I have been stuck for the past year and half after losing 90 pounds. I would love to get to a classification of normal body weight but cant seem to find the secret. Any advice would be nice!

Hi to all! I am bouncing between 179-181 and can't seem to break this plateau. I'm exercising 4 days/week. This week is spring break so I'm going to try and exercise everyday and be active with yard/house work. Hopefully this will work. I've lost 20 lbs so far and 1 dress size. I'm no longer classified as "Obese," just "overweight!" Hoping to be at acceptable BMI by July! Good luck to all!

The big "M!" That makes it sound exciting! It is a new phase in life, but not any worse than any other phase. I'm 52 now and I've been experiencing symptoms for about 5 years but still have 1-2 cycles per year, so technically I'm not in menopause but perimenopause.
Physical symptoms: Night sweats, hot flashes, and insomnia have been my biggest issues, but losing weight and regular exercise/activity seem to help. The symptoms have gotten a little worse over the past year. I also use herbal Estroven products, along with a good multivitamin, calcium supplement (I don't eat a lot of dairy), and glucosamine (achy joints!).
Emotionally: a little variable but again relieved with regular exercise/activity and sleep!
But personally, I am excited to be in this phase of my life. My boys are grown and happy in their lives. I've attained my Master's degree and have the teaching position I've wanted. I have time to give back to my community and church. And my spouse and I are freer to travel and do things we love!
So, fear not!

I am new to this site too! I was going to start on Saturday but it was our anniversary so my husband said to wait so we could go out for a nice dinner. And today is Father's day and we had a big get-together, so he said to start tomorrow on Monday. Now, I have to start and not have any more excuses until I reach my goal!

I am 52 and have a lot of experience with the big M. The healthier I eat, the less negative symptoms I experience.

I am 51 and I haven't noticed to many symptoms from the "Big M", but I, like you, am happy with this stage in my life. Our kids are grown and are all settled. now I'm enjoying gkids and some extra travel we haven't been able to do before.
