Yes 60 plus...sounds old but you make yourself as old as you want to feel. There are days I feel 100 and days I feel 20! At 62 I want to live life to the fullest and have no regrets. But with over 100 pounds put back on in last 10 years my regret right now I didn't push back the foods so I could take my grandson's to the park or a walk. So here I am here thinking life is short do something now. This site Is good on helping you keep your diet in order. I love it but I was missing something not feeling full always hungry. I should have joined the part you pay for I needed some ideas they may have helped. So yesterday I joined weight watchers back up on line. 10 years ago I lost 150 pounds on it. Than a lot of stress I put 100 back on over years. So I want to get it off and live. I have a coach I talk to, a lot of people are on the site chatting, and you have now foods just for you to help keep you satisfied. The only thing you have to have a certain type of phone to chat...I can answer to their chat but I can't start one.. At 62 I just have a basic cell phone no internet. But anyways I will see how it is doing...I will let you on ideas they give me. And wish you luck!

Hi 1945 and Joycetime.
I seem to be running into Joycetime everywhere I explore. Congrats again for joining weight watchers. I used it successfully when I was in my twenties once.
I seem to do big fairly fast weight losses, followed by 7-8 years of slowly putting the weight back on and then repeat. Don’t seem to be able to get motivated unless my weight is totally out of control.
My motivation this time is to be able to sing and dance in a musical scheduled for Late May. Knew I couldn’t do it at 302, but could at 250. So far I am actually on schedule for about 240.

Oh I hope you can do it that sounds so exciting! And just think dancing will help you lose weight...win win win! Put a picture of you on fridge dancing for motivation might help. I have pictures of my grandsons and I swimming, going to movies and I know how hard it is for me to do all those things so I want to get back healthy so I can. Yes I like to blog when I'm dieting it helps me keep my mind off food and gives me encouragement to continue. Sometimes I just blog on paper my thought an when I'm having a bad day I look thiru them and see what made me have a bad day. I have discovered being retired and getting old thing if you are unhealthy is not good ..let alone scary. If it was no for my daughter needing me to watch the boys while se finishes college I would probably go back to work..not much exercise in what I did at work banking but a challenger for the brain, lol. Keep up the work..I want to hear and possible see pictures of you dancing!

I thought maybe copy paste but didn't work.. do you get a lot of exercise dancing. I ride an exercise bike for 5 minutes and get tired. Working on getting back out walking again maybe start 1/4 mile for week than add 1/2 until 3 again. Be glad when summer comes and get garden veggies....my sister put out a large garden and shares. Keep up the work I want to hear you danced!

The trick to exercise is to push yourself to do just a little more each week. I try hard to get in an hour each day. As I lose weight, I try to up the activity. Instead of walking, make it biking, or I go to our church and add 25 flights of stairs to my walk.
The dancing will start in April. Just music rehearsals till then. But yes, when we start rehearsals for the dance, it is exhausting. We go thru a dance and then the director says again, again, again till you can hardly breath. I am so happy for the actual performance. They are so much easier. You only have to do each dance once.
When I did Smokey Joe’s Cafe the cast of 5 men lost almost 100 lbs during rehearsal. I don’t think this show will be quite as demanding, but we will see.

curious what got you into dancing? I ride an exercise bike, walk and chase after 2 grandsons 3 days a week but never thought of dancing. I love music but just never gave it a thought. I have watched dancing with the stars and wow the work they put in. Hope you get healthy and always have fun dancing!

Well singing is my main passion in retirement. I sing in my church choir, a 160 member mixed community chorus, a barbershop chorus, have a barbershop quartet, and have been doing musicals for the last few years at our community theatre. The dance is just because of the musicals.
I did learn to ballroom dance 30 years ago after my daughter joined the Ohio State Ballroom dance team. I’m ok, but she is awesome. She just quit teaching dance (strictly a hobby) because she is due to have her second child in 6 weeks.

I just saw last post wow you amaze me every time I read. You are quite talented and it runs in the family...you have sure been blessed! I have never been able to dance only with my grandsons or yes my baby dogs in my living room. When I was in school I went to the Prom with a gentleman that knew dancing well...he said just follow me and we danced the night away. I may have looked like a fool but I had a wonderful time...around 47 years ago. You have so much to live for dancing, singing, new grandbaby and all around health...you got this!!
