In it for the long haul Topic

I feel like I should be standing in front of a group saying: Hi my name is Bob Im 37 years old and Im fat, diabetic, and feel like crap 98% of the time.

I am all those things except for the name Bob. I found this app by accident and realized while reviewing all the information about it that I really dont like being like this. If anyone else can relate to having dual personalities that kinda what it feels like theres a small guy screaming that he's dying... and the other one is saying shutup eat... it tastes good I'll worry about it down the road and fix problems as they come at me.

The problem is weight gain and health problems may not occur quickly it can be gradual over years. Which unhealthy living has taken its toll physically and emotionally.

I dont normally go out seeking help either. I am of the mindset that I got myself into this jam and your the only one going to get yourself out. (while technically this is true) it doesnt count in the support factor. So I have decided to step outside of my comfort zone socially and with food.

I am in it for the long haul. My weight is out of control and I want to be 200lbs before I turn 40. I also want to be free of taking meds for diabetes and blood pressure. Doctors say it can be diet controled if enough weight is lossed so by god thats what I want.

So to all of you that having been doing ths program for awhile or even the newcomers.... I need all the help and support I can get.

Thanks so much for reading the wall of text. Give me a shout if anyone would like to share or chat.

I hear ya! Good luck!

Hi Bodoc and Swrlygrl, I've beenm using this app for about 3 weeks now and have lost about 2kg in weight - not much I know. I have just found the forum page and thought maybe if I chatted to some people I would be encouraged in my quest to lose more weight.

I'm afraid I'm from the UK so don't understand pounds but it sounds to me Bodoc that you've got the right attitude and with a bit of support you'll be able to achieve your goals, one step at a time!!

Anyway nice to meet you guys

I tell you what I'm watching my mom pass from kidney failure related to diabetes. She weighs close to 350 and caring for her is difficult. I don't think I've ever been more motivated...

The good news bodoc is the diabetes will improve before you've lost everything you hope to! I hope you post again and let us know how you're doing.

Thanks for all the comments. Quick update. I've lost 12lbs so far I am very encouraged by the beginning results!

Congrats on the weight lost!
