I've had type 2 diabetes since 1999. I just got a new endocrinologist and he wants me to think about going on a pump since my total daily dose of Lantus is 130 units. I really don't want to be bothered with a pump. Your responses would be appreciated if you are a pumper.

Hello,I have had type 1 diabetes for 16 years since I was 10 years old. I have an insulin pump, just like anything you use to treat diabetes; there is some pros ansd cons. I have tried the MiniMed, but I don't like the tubes, so I am on the OMNI POD, it's tubeless and stciks to your body. The pod gives me more freedom then shots did, however I don't like changing them every three days; but the pros out weigh the cons. What are you "specifically" worried about? or concerned about?

I have a Medtronic pump. I have been a diabetic for 27 years and on a pump for about 12 years. I am so glad I have one because the benefits are great. I do change my site every 3 days. Believe it or not you just get use to it like any other routine in your life. Hope this helps and I am open to answering any of your questions.

I was diagnosed in Oct 2012 with Type 1. My endo and nutritionist are all telling me I should go on the pump to get better A1C levels and make dealing with this a lot easier. I haven't done it yet because I'm so afraid. Some have said the injection of the tube is rather painful, other have got infections, others had problems with the flow and didn't realize it until they became hypo. I really don't know what to do
