I have been there. Living with my father was very destructive for me, cause the house was stocked with junk food and I would gorge when I was bored and depressed. When I realized what I was doing to myself day in and day out, I started eating healthier and exercising daily. What helped me prioritize was and still is to picture the self that I want to look like in my minds eye, that's what drives me. Even though I knew there was good tasting food in the kitchen cabinets I would take it off my mind by bringing that picture up in my mind and it just takes self control. Also.. I would keep a article of clothing that I really want to fit in hanging up in my room where I could see it everyday, and I would keep that my ultimate goal of fitting into it. Making goals into reality and just striving for that feeling that you accomplished it is a good way to keep the junk food off your mind. :) So I have found. Hope that can help. :)

I don't know how supportive your boyfriend is of your weight loss goals, but I would ask him to help you by reducing the amount of junk food he buys, and also to refrain from eating it around you as much as possible. Perhaps he could even benefit from a change in his eating habits himself - even if he is not overweight himself, it won't be doing him any good inside. I would suggest that you talk to him and ask him to help and support you as much as possible because trying to do it on your own just makes it harder. Also try to find a physical activity that you enjoy doing together to help reduce boredom and burn calories, even just a gentle walk will do. I hope this helps and good luck :-)

Something that me and (my now ex) boyfriend used to was instead of eating junk, we'd spend time together cooking healthy and (what we called) weird meals that we'd never eaten before. We got to spend time together, we'd get to try something new, and instead of being bored you're spending the time preparing food.

Thank you all for your comments the only problem is my boyfriend is overweight, but does not want to do anything about it, iv tried my best to help him but he will not have non of it. In my case I do want to lose weight really badly but I'm finding it so hard. The other thing is I have an 8 month old little boy so it's not that easy to stand there making healthy dinners with my boyfriend,& working out when I feel like it, don't get me wrong I try to do a work out every day but some days I'm just so tired I cba. I really need to do something about my weight im getting verry depressed about it I really need some good advice????

You need a workout buddy! It's so hard to get motivated when you're doing it by yourself.. I've just recently asked one of my friends if they wanted to get fit with me and it's the best thing ever! With the tiredness, I work away and I struggle a lot with not being bothered to work out.. Even just a half n hour walk after dinner will work wonders for you. Another thing you could try is planning your meals for the day, if you set out what you're going to eat for your day and stick to it, that will help alot!
Hope this helps you a bit, goodluck :)

I have almost the identical issue. I have a young son (hes 2) and a boyfriend who has rapidly gained weight since getting out of the military in April of 2010. I feel like I am stuck, because he says he wants to lose weight all the time and never does anything about it. When I decide to diet I always ask if he wants to do it with me, and I have looked into getting into a gym for the both of us but he is just so unmotivated. Its difficult trying to find the motivation to do it when the person your closest to doesnt have any motivation...

I had the same issue with my bf, except he genetically has a hard time gaining weight, so he can really eat whatever he wants, he's very active. I on the other hand gain weight fairly easily.. I basically can not be eating the same things he is if I want to be in shape. I know it's hard because you spend a lot of time with that person and you develop habits together...but what helped me is I talked to him and told him I wanted to get in shape and that we can't keep eating junk together and if I say I don't want any for him to not feel bad and try to shove it in my face kind of thing. He fully supports me. And i think it is necessary that you have that conversation it will help. ALSO if he does not want to loose weight... think of this. Once he see's that your slimming down and really taking care of yourself he will most definitely feel a little intimidated and threatened about you not going else where or keeping you... which may drive him to do something. THE ideal and key thing to remember is at the end of the day your doing it for you..and regardless of what people eat around you, you have to LEARN self-control or you will never be able to stay fit once you get there. JUST REMEMBER when those people are stuffing their faces with junk and sweets... how much better off you are not eating that... not just physically, but mentally, not only will you look great but im sure your skin will improve, you will have more energy, you'll generally be in a better mood. There's tons of pros to and not so many cons:) anyways goodluck and just whenever you think of giving up push yourself even harder
