The months keep ticking away! Do you all have a plan for the July 4th holiday (if you observe it)? Having a plan means you'll be more likely to control your calories intake.

It is hitting a high of 100F here in CO. Thank goodness I got my daily walk in early today (still 90F by the time I finished). If you are living in a high heat area, consider cardio indoors in an air-conditioned gym OR find yourself a nice outdoor pool!

it's getting hotter here in MS too; i do my treadmill time inside my home; then dumbell weights; then outside for a dip in my pool to cool down (also adds a little cardio time if you do a couple of laps); i find you have to constantly seek ways to stay active each day; i also note the weight training, although light, is adding muscle weight which will make the scale go up a bit at first; but i think over time the extra muscle will increase my metabolism enough to continue to draw down body fat%; my weight dr. seems more interested in me achieving a lower body fat % and higher muscle %, than any arbitrary weight on the scale; as my fitness improves, the weight dr. seems to be morphing into a trainer of sorts! weird, but that is how it is working out for me so far; wonder if anyone else is experiencing this same pattern? hope you have a great summer and thanks again for all of your help and leadership to MND--- MtnDog

Great that your doc is so helpful. When docs are athletic, it helps with awareness of body comp vs. just BMI, etc.
BTW, treading water is actually considered moderate intensity exercise so that is also a nice cool option. But now I am jealous - I would love a pool! :) Kathy

Just a heads up that Donna Feldman will be covering forum for me from 7/10 - 7/14. She can't see my private groups so if you have a question for her, be sure to post it on "Ask a Dietitian Current" topic on the public forum. It is easiest to find it if you use the web for forum since you can scroll backwards in time.
I look forward to chatting again with everyone next week.
