Hi Everyone - it is summer here in Colorado. How are you all doing? Let me know!
Best,
Kathy

it's summer here in MS too and the pool feels great; weight loss has plateaued a bit; down 81 lbs since last 1 Nov; still enjoying Mediterranean food plan and 1 hr of cardio on treadmill per day; dr. suggested adding light weights so no doing 30 min of light dumbells on bench and a few reps of planks and superman stretches; seems to be tightening up abs a bit; all in all the journey continues; we'lll see in time if weight begins to drop again; adding more vegetables and fiber to food intake; thanks to MND and Kathy for helping me to maintain the loss I have achieved and build a healthier lifestyle; everyone is in my prayers for your own weight loss/fitness journey; don't give up! Great to hear from you, MtnDog. Temporary plateaus are common so hang in there.

How is everyone doing?

Kathy

I weighed in on Friday for the first time in 3 weeks and had lost 5lbs... unfortunately I had a motivation blip at the weekend and ate ~2000 more calories than I should have... but today is better :)

Glad you are back on track, jkdavies! It is good to move past the "all or nothing" rut - meaning even if you went overboard during the weekend, you started anew this week. That matters. Good for you!
Best,
Kathy

I know I will always have blips.. Just have to make sure I am sensible in between them ;)
I am on a business trip at the moment and trying to balance healthy but delicious food in restaurants isn't easy... So I have to be good tomorrow ;)

Yes - traveling is hard. If you can't find an item in MyNetDiary, remember that a restaurant chain almost always has it on their company website (vs. available at the restaurant).

Kathy

There's often not too many chain restaurants on my travels... working out what is on the menu is just as difficult as working out how many calories it has! I've a 2-3week trip to China coming up which will be a challenge...

Yes, traveling overseas is challenging! But you could always go with commonsense guidelines even if you don't have calorie counts:

- Avoid deep-fat fried foods
- Watch snacking
- Avoid chinese bakeries (yes, there are tons of them)
- Watch the amount of alcohol

But enjoy your trip to China - it sounds very exciting!

I like this article from the U.K. on the subject of eating in China: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/healthy-living/use-your-noodle-the-real-chinese-diet-is-so-healthy-it-could-solve-the-wests-obesity-crisis-873651.html
