Keto style eating plan Topic


Hi there... A little about me... I turned 40 in May, and was pretty startled and depressed to see the scale had officially tipped over 300 lbs... I'm only 5'4" and I was 301.7 lbs and had been struggling with diminishing mobility for a couple years... Time to get serious about some big lifestyle changes... thus the username... ;)

Today is 7 weeks since I started eating LCHF/Keto-style. Five weeks in I decided to try the HCG 2.0 plan, which is also keto-style, it's quite different from Simeon's orginal protocol, and isn't super low calorie (most people's main complaint about it). Of course Phase 3 is always low carb, so it's a good fit so far... I lost 7.8 lbs in 5 weeks of "normal" LCHF (I followed Dr. Eades' Protein Power Lifeplan guidelines)... and 4.7 lbs in the first week on HCG 2.0 (9 lbs if you count fat loading weight). The second week has been a bit more challenging, feeling really hormonal and having a lot of cravings, had a cheat day yesterday, but today I'm back on track. I'm determined to just keep pushing through, even when it gets hard.

I was logging in myfitnesspal, but that site is seriously glitchy and full of incorrect user submitted data, so made the switch over here today. I'm trying out the paid membership for a month so I can use the net carb option and set my macros to exactly what I want... I'm really hoping there's the same level of community support here. :)

I started a group today called LCHF/Keto Support if anyone doing a keto-style eating plan wants to join that too for more specific support.
