Hi!
I'm a 53 year old female with HBP, Hi cholesterol, and hi triglycerides, and (OMG) 80lbs to lose. I just started using netdiary yesterday and since I am anti-diet and anti-fitness, I am looking for virtual buddies that are also on this journey. Any takers?

Good luck. Ultimately it's not about dieting and exercising but rather about lifestyle. I've known this years but have always been ineffective at making the necessary changes. I plan on this time being different.
I evaluated what I needed to change and the developed a plan to get in the habit of eating right and maintaining activity levels. It takes a minimum of two months to develop habits. MND has been great for me to keep a close track go what I do. If I track everything I manage everything as well. I a m determined to maintain the habits of mind that I am developing.
I hope you have success in achieving your goals.

Hi KathCurt. I'm a 55 year old female with HBP, high cholesterol and diabetes. Everything is under control with medicine, but I'm tired of feeling like a walking pharmacy some days, so I started my journey to better health a week ago. The goal is to lose enough weight that I feel (and am) healthy and can get off all the meds.
I'll be glad to be your journey buddy and we can offer each other encouragement, no judgment. :-) This journey is different for everyone, and everyone finds different ways to travel, but having someone to chat with about stuff definitely makes it easier to do!

It can be done. I've been off my BP medicine for a month and keeping my BP around 115/75. I've reduced my Metformin by 25% as well. It's definitely more challenging in my late 50's than it was when I was younger.
