Low calorie food ideas Topic

Hi iv been doing this for nearly a week now but I struggle to think of low calorie foods :/ mainly snacks! If anyone has ANY low calorie food ideas snacks or meals please feel free to share with me :) thanks guys x

Hello! Fruits and veggies are an obvious place to start for low calorie snacks. Apples, bananas, and carrots tend to be what I go for. Pretzels can be a good one too, depending on how many calories you allot for a snack you could always add some peanut butter or an ounce of cheese for the protein. If you have low calorie, whole grain bread, a piece or two of that with peanut butter is also a good filling snack. Do not know if any of that helped, hoped it did and if I think of more I will make another post. Good luck with the weight loss journey! :)

Try to stick with nutrient dense stuff, they're much more filling than some processed thing. This would include: fruits, veggies, nut butters, nuts and seeds, hummus, a can of tuna or chicken, hard boiled egg or egg whites, you get the idea.

I've been going with a lot of vegetables, those mini babybel cheeses, and yogurt. I'll buy a bunch of different vegetables at the store and chop them all up into finger food and put them in a container in the fridge. When I find myself looking in the fridge it's really surprising how often I'll go for the veggies, especially if you throw in delicious snow peas and radishes. The mini cheese wheels are awesome and filling and the 'light' variety are only 50 cals. As far as the yogurt, I don't buy the light stuff and I buy greek varieties usually. The light yogurts have always left me feeling unsatisfied. What's saving a few calories going 'light' if I just eat more later because I didn't get enough?

I've been going for high protein/low carb. I'll use a tablespoon of peanut butter mixed with a tablespoon of plain greek yogurt. It's really yummy and filling. I make it for my daughter and she dips her apple slices in it. Also very satisfying. Low cal recipes can be tricky, but I just made a "pizza" the other night with 1 portabella mushroom cap (stem removed) 1/2 cup tomato sauce, italian seasoning and garlic to taste, fresh basil and spinach, pepperoni and 1/4 cup Italian blend cheese. I broiled it for about 10-15 minutes. It was sooo good and under 250 calories.

Absolutely trying your portobella pizza idea. Holy crap that sounds perfect!

How'd it turn out for you, Ann?! Do you think it's as good as I do?!??
