Hi everyone! How is tracking going? Any questions?
Best,
Kathy

This group has been rather quiet this year. I haven't posted either so here goes an update.

I started losing last summer at 280, I was pretty unorganized and trying various things but sticking to none of them. Managed to drop 20 pounds by Jan 11 or so this year.

Jan 11 I downloaded MND, talk about supercharging my progress. I went from 261 then to 233 now in about a third of the time. Of course I am not just tracking, there are supplements, better nutrition choices, regular exercises and diet limitations in play as well. I find MND helps me to keep it organized and focused.

My loss has slowed now to about 2 pounds a week on average and I am happy with that. I would like to make it to 200 or so by the end of the summer. I can run a mile again without dying, and feel pretty good afterwards. I know I haven't been doing that any time in the last 15 years or so.

I have really enjoyed and find strength in everyone's posts both from successes and setbacks. The successes empower me and when I have a setback it feels great to know I am not alone. Share often, the more ya'll succeed the more I feel like I can see this through. My weakness has always been that losing weight is a time game, you have to keep going!

Hi RayGlasscock, it's great to hear from you! Sounds like tracking has really helped you - I had the same experience. It became a much more efficient way to create the calories deficit on a consistent basis.

An average weight loss of about 1-2 lbs/week is considered a safe rate of weight loss when done via diet/lifestyle (e.g. not medically managed). So you are on target there.

Losing weight is usually time-bound but weight maintenance is life long. I think setting the mind to seeing weight control as something you do for life is important. Sort of like brushing & flossing one's teeth - you really need to do it daily for your whole life.

I look forward to hearing from you again!
Best,
Kathy
