Morbidly Obese but determined... Topic


Hello all, My name is Ric, weighed in on my 46th birthday at 306 with an max normal weight of 197. I catergorize as morbidly obese. I made the commitment to get to 250 by next birthday. On track so far.

So far tracking every thing I eat focusing on cutting carbs and increasing fiber, up to 6 mile walks 6 days a week and feeling good, but also depressed at how slow the weight comes off.

I live 20 minutes from Cocoa beach and am going to get to where I am not embarassed to be shirtless on the surf beach. Anyway, hello!


Sounds like a great plan! I found some Slim Fast shakes this weekend that are low carb. They are hard to find but have a very small amount of carbs and a whopping 20 grams of protein. They seem to help my appetite. Do you do extra protein shakes?


I do a meal replacement shake called Raw Meal. It is my breakfast daily. I cannot say its packed with protein, but it does have a lot of fiber. Absolutely not the best flavor though. The wheat grass comes through too strong...


No longer morbidly obese, yea! Now only major obese, still working on it.


Stick with it! Slow is still progress so as long as you are moving forward. Just remember the more muscle that you add the more fat your body will burn! You will get there just stick with it!


Don't give up and keep going. Great job so far.
