New to this app.. but loving it so far. Trying to stay healthy and lose about 15 pounds. I have maintained a 100lb loss for the last 6 years🙌It is always going to be a journey and lifestyle. I try to clean eat as much as possible, but I do love this and give myself off days too.

Hi there DonnasJourney123-
Welcome to MyNetDiary!
Congrats on your weight loss! Losing 100# and keeping it off is an amazing accomplishment. What tips might you share with folks who are just getting started on their weight loss journey and struggling with staying the course? Thanks for sharing! Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hi Misquisqueyana- Welcome to MyNetDiary!
I agree with you! Consistency is so important. Even if you have a day where your eating doesn't go as planned, the sooner you can get back on track, the better. If you have any nutrition or weight loss questions, simply post them under Ask a Registered Dietitian section of the forum. We are happy to help! In good health~ Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hi everyone this is my second day with this app and so far I love it! I have already lost 15-20 pounds before starting this but still want to lose 20 more. I need motivation because i love food and am always hungry, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You are not alone when it comes to motivation. It waxes and wanes for sure. Don't let that throw you off track.

Hi Everyone,
I am returning to my weight loss journey after falling off the train for a bit. I am taking it 10 pounds at a time. I am post-menopausal and find it difficult to get the weight off. I am trying low-fat and walk one to three miles 4 days a week (depending on my schedule). When I started, I dropped 6 pounds quickly (water weight), but put 3 pounds back on. I feel like I am doing the cha-cha...two steps forward, one step back. Sigh.

Hi Kpucker1868,

Welcome back! I would definitely maximize the walking by gradually increasing it if you can. Studies show exercising for at least one hour most days of the week is most effective for weight loss. Wishing you more steps forward than back! Brenda (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

I'm 70 and my doctor told me I had to lose 50 lbs. I have a treadmill that I try to get on every day for at least 25 minutes and trying to increase that a little at a time. I lost 6 lbs the first few weeks but I know that was only water. This last week I've been stuck and the scales won't move. I'm not a foodie and don't like cooking or preparing meals. I struggle with getting enough protein. I've played around with different combination of meats, nuts and yogurts, but always end up going over the fats budget. I've stripped out everything I enjoy like the occasional hamburger on the BBQ but still can't get the scales to budge. I'm getting very discouraged and once again feel like a failure. I need help.

First day on the app. I have lost 88.5 pounds since 4/15/22 and still have a ways to go. I was going to Planet Fitness 5-7 days a week, but have been sidelined since January…. Non gym foot injury. I’m hoping the app will help me get rid of the # 50 I still need to lose!

Hi there U1195924245-
Welcome to MyNetDiary! Strong work on your commitment to walking and improving your health.
Remember to be kind to yourself. Losing weight and changing habits is hard work! Putting in the time and energy to track what you are eating and engage in regular activity is a success in my book!

We at MyNetDiary encourage healthy and sustainable weight loss. Try setting a reasonable weight loss goal such as losing 1/2# each week. It is all about progress, not perfection:)
