My first plateau! Topic

I lost 15lbs in my first month, and now I've hit a plateau. Is anyone else in a holding pattern, or recently got over one?
I did some research and I think I was eating too little, so my metabolism slowed down... Now I'm adjusting to eat just a teeny bit more each day (1600 instead of 1300 cals), just enough to keep my body from thinking I'm starving!
Any encouragement on fighting the disappointment of a plateau?

Alternatively, you could try amping up your exercise programme for a few days? That would get your weight falling again.

Alternate your workout and eating habits. When you get in a set routine your body adapts to it:
- Make sure you are eating small meals throughout the day (Keeps metabolism going all day)
- Change up when you eat your bigger lunch/dinners by an hour or 2 (eat at 6pm one night, then 7pm another)
- Make sure to incorporate at least 30 minutes of walking/jogging into each day (in one session)
- Do different workouts each day, don't let your body adjust
- Workout at a different intensity each time. (If you have a set exercise schedule, push yourself harder for a day or 2 then relax and just do a long walk/jog, then push again then maybe take a day off. Don't get in the habit of doing the same thing each day)
- Very important! Push your body when working out! Go an extra 5/10/15 minutes walking, extra set here and there. You have to push your body a little farther each day
Just keep at it. Even if you are not losing weight, as long as you eat right and have a healthy exercise program it is doing good for your body! Changing fat to muscle etc. Good Luck!
