Need Weight Loss Buddy! Topic


Hey everyone!


I've been trying this dieting thing for the last week. I'm both excited to get back into shape and a bit depressed that I have 35 pounds that I want to lose before August 1. If anyone has any helpful hints on ways to increse weight loss while not starving myself, please share!


Lots of greens :) You can make a lot of interesting salads with fresh greens. Instead of just regular iceburg and cucumber and carrots (lovely staple salad of diners everywhere...) I usually mix in baby greens, spinach, red or green leaf lettuce, radishes, different colors of tomatoes, jicama, orange slices, mushrooms, cut up peas and green beans, corn.

Also- most salad dressings, are vinegar, sugar, spices, salt and pepper and oil. Most of the calories in them come from the oil. I like rice vinegar, with salt, pepper, and oregano for most salads.

And, just good old fashioned exercise- will balance out extra calories.


I have been doing the following pretty regularly and it has helped so far:

-substituting a large lettuce leaf for bread on a sandwhich, making it a wrap instead

-instead of drinking sugary fruit juice, try making iced herbal tea ( hibiscus is nice) with a slice or two of lemon or lime

-bean salads are always nice: cut up fresh veggies like cucumbers, bell peppers, you can add avocado if you like and add a can of low sodium pinto beans, rice vinegar, a little salt and pepper to taste


You can also get some La Tortilla factory, whole wheat wraps, that have a lot of fiber, and are only 100 calories each, about the same as one slice of bread.


Hey, I am new to the community as well and am looking for a buddy, I am commited and have so much enthusiasm for reaching my goals but its always nice to have someone by your side that you can cheer on and be cheered on as a feel good motivator. If anyone is interested please let me know. I am 21 and need to lose 20lbs, by summer might be a bit overreaching but I'm prepared to put in the work, anyone with me ?


HomeMadeHoney: I will be your buddy, I've just joined the forums but been using the diary for about 4 weeks and already lost 11 pounds! When does summer 'start' for you (i.e. your goal date). Because even though you shouldn't lose more than 2 pounds a week (as you will likely rebound) you'll find in the first couple of weeks you may lose more as you lose water retention etc, So 20 pounds might still be in reach in say 8 weeks... So yea go for it!


Hi I am looking to lose 30ish lbs. Anyone want/need a weightless buddy? I am still in college so it's hard to eat exactly only why they serve you... Any help would be greatly appreciated! The last buddy I had just stopped emitting me alt all!

I'll be your buddy. The plan is to lose 40lbs, the first 10 by Thanksgiving. I graduated college 6 years ago and still have the freshmen 15 and some extra.


I still have 40 to go too. I gained a bunch of weight with two pregnancies and have lost pretty much all of it. I just have the 40 left that I should have lost before getting pregnant!
