New and Need a little support for my weight loss journey Topic

Howdy, all! I'll be 62 this year, and I'm struggling to lose 25 lbs, which doesn't seem like much, but it is. You know the saying, the hurrieder you go, the behinder you get? Well, the older I go, the stickier the pounds get, seemingly, lol. I've done about every diet out there, and I'm down from where I was back in 2012 (my heaviest point in recent memory, except when I was pregnant, but that's dim past, heh.) But the last several years have crept up on me, and so here we go again. I'm just counting calories on the app, no special diet. I started on Feb. 22, and have lost two lbs, I'm aiming for a lb a week, which was encouraging. However, I stepped on the scale this morning and found I'd gained back a lb, ugh! Now, I know that CICO has a lot of variables, it's not as cut and dried as it sounds. So, that said, got any advice to get back to losing? I'm not quitting, I just figure I need to tweak something or some things. (I'm open to any and all suggestions, and thanks for reading this long ramble!)

I’m 62 and just found this app and love it. My hope is to lose 52 lbs. my suggestion for you would be cut out bread and see if that changes anything

I'm 60 and doing the calorie count. I have my calories dry for 1lb a week and I'm losing that or more some weeks. I still eat bread but not every day. I also switched to sprouted bread. I eat cookies I also eat healthier foods. I scan my items to get more accurate information. I do log everything. I don't drink pop and rarely drink coffee I only drink 56oz of water per my cardiologist suggestion. My suggestion would be to make sure you are logging every bite, even if it's just one bite. Eat only when you are hungry, stop ss soon as you feel full. Enjoy what you are eating. Set smaller goals. Like increasing steps or activity. Mine is to reduce the amount of cookies I eat. If I eat less cookies I can have cheese or peanut butter with my apple. That is more filling. The little changes add up over time. Reaching goal weight isn't a destination, it's a progressive lifestyle change.

Oh, I forgot to add weigh and measure your food. The difference between what I estimated vs. Reality was startling.

I'm new to this app, and new to this group. I'm starting at 200 lbs and am wanting to lose about 50 lbs. Also, how do I invite any of you guys to be "friends" on this app? I can't figure it out.
