New to MyNetDiary and looking for a home Topic

Hi folks! I started with this program about a week or so ago, and have lost about 2 lbs. I'm looking for a place to hang out. Although I'm +60, there doesn't seem to be anybody home over there.


I'm a retired Christian lady who lives in Pennsylvania. DH & I have 5 kids and 8 granddaughters, with all of them within driving distance. (Boy, when I re-read that, it makes me sound so old, like I should be sitting in a rocking chair knitting! Trust me, nothing could be further from the truth. LOL!)


How are things in this group? Is it an active one? At least I see you have a lot of recent posts. I must admit to being more of a lurker in most groups. I like to "listen in" and usually just chime in occasionally.

Hello, I like your name soon2bsvelte.I just recently joined this group.I have MND on my iPad and started on Aug. 15th and have lost 5 lbs.I really like the idea of keeping a food diary,always heard it was a good idea to help keep track of calories but thought it was to much work .This program makes it easy and so far I like it.I am 5"7" and my first goal is to go from 198 to 175. at that weight my BMI is still high so I will set another goal of 155.
I am 51 years old and work 4 days a week as a hairstylist.My feet have been giving me problems especially my heels,so I hope losing this weight will help with that.My problem is staying motivated so I thought joining a group would help.

Hi Soon2bsvelte! Congratulations on losing 2 pounds! That is great :) I am starting on this program tomorrow for the first time. If I do as well as you the first week I will be pleased. I am 52 and I am married with 3 sons and 6 grandchildren. My middle son was killed 2 years ago when a semi crossed over the center line and hit him head on.
