Just joined........lost 30kg since May 2010 and don't want to re-bound.

I just saw a picture of Mike Huckabee (politician and Fox News guy), who lost 100 lbs in 2004 and then wrote a motivational book. He is now re-bounding big time. At least 40 lbs heavier than during the election my guess.

Not gonna happen to me!!!!

Welcome. Me either! I lost 130 pounds in 53 weeks then was so scared of putting it back on I lost another 10 pounds but have stablized. Not doiung that again! well again welcome-Fran

Welcome to the team, Yamanote! Stress can really push us to the limit, but I do think that tracking makes all the difference in the world. Maybe Mike Huckabee needs to join MyNetDiary!

Good idea. I will tweet him next time he is on the tube!

And BTW, I saw a diet program on NHK (Japanese public TV) that pinpointed a daily calorie journal as the key to success in a diet program.

Yep, it's the first thing a good GP will suggest if you come in with a weight related issue.

Even without exercise (and some are too big to start) just knowing whats going in can really help.

Congrats Yamanote on the weight loss, rebounding is really what worries me but I know that even with a bad weekend now and then, I'll never let myself get as big as I was before.

Yes, the key is permanent monitoring of weight and calories. We might go a little up and down over the months and years, but regular and timely tracking of both allows us to nip problems in the bud.

Best,

Kathy

Esra_oz, are you a doc? We have so many professionals on this team!

Hi everyone! I'm half a pound from my goal, so I joined this team today!! I'm sooooo excited to be close to my goal, but will continue losing until March 1st, since that was my goal date.
My question is, how do I switch MND over to maintenance on March 1st?

You don't really have to "switch" anything other than keep your current weight updated, and set your mindset to maintenance. You are on the right team for that! :)

Congrats - keep at it. And brag to us when you reach goal!

Best,

Kathy

Yeah, no rebound!

My biggest problem is I have to keep buying new pants to keep up with my weight loss. Even the pants I purchased at Christmas are too big and will be going to the salvation army.

I just purchased a pair of pants which I previously thought there would never be a chance I could ever fit in. Just a couple of months ago the shop staff would not have even let me try it on. Now fits perfect.

So I am not gonna send those pants to the salvation army!
