Hi everyone. Downloaded the app last week and started my path to weight loss on Monday. I'm currently overweight at 283 lbs and need to be at a healthy 220 lbs!! 63 lbs to go!! Would love some support.

Welcome to MND. It sounds like you have some exciting goals. Have you got a plan in place of how to achieve this? Are you doing in through diet or exercise or both?

I have only been using the site since May and have found it is a great help so good luck with it all.

I'm doing it through both. I want my calorie intake to be between 1800-2000 a day. And I'm currently going to the gym every other day. So hopefully it pans out. One of my biggest struggles is NOT eating breakfast. I know I need too, but it's hard sometimes.


Hi Shawc-one, and welcome to MND! If you stick with your plan and are mindful of what is going into your body, then you're sure to meet your goals! I'm at 185lbs down from 250 and am training for a half marathon in November thanks to MND!

I would like to share with you my tips for remembering to eat a healthy breakfast. I keep a bowl of fresh fruit on my nightstand and developed the habit of always placing my keys next to it at night. That way, when I'm on my way out the door I can just grab a peach or something! And I also keep some high fiber breakfast bars in my car's trunk.

Some more words of encouragement: Once you start to approach a healthier weight, you'll find that you're sleeping better and will wake up more alert, energized, and ready to whip up a healthy breakfast! You will be amazed at how your quality of sleep will affect your quality of life.

I've bought 7 pieces of fruit and have them in a bowl at my garage door, I'll be eating one every day now!! Great idea on that!!!

I promise you that all you need to achieve the healthy body that you're looking for is to add *time* to the ambition and vision that you have for yourself! Stick with it and don't get discouraged. Small moves - day by day - will create a whole new (external) you.

Well said!! And I completely agree...for me, the struggle will be 'sticking with it' and not giving up....first weigh in is monday morning, so I'll be interested to see results..if any
