Newbie Topic


Hi everyone,

Just thought id introduce myself a little bit...

My name is Kaye and im 22 living in Melbourne, I've only recently joined MND and am looking forward to tracking my progress but i know im going to need a little help in achieving my goals (as we all do).

I work in a very slow and boring role, mainly sitting down for atleast 10-12 hours a day and im a terrible snacker :/ (and smoker looking at quitting)

Exercising is difficult to fit into my schedule (along with working and sleeping) and am limited by physical ailments to boot so im relying mainly on changing my irratic diet of cigarettes, energy drinks, coke and chips (and stuffing my face with one giant meal at nigh-time) to something healthier and more stable.

I'm looking forward to chatting and offering support and hopefully looking for some myself :)

I'm 1 week in and find myself quite happy with this app!!

I like that I can track what I'm doing, and see results not only on the scale, but also in my life changing habits of eating poorly and no exercise to one of a lot more healthy and portion control and exercise.

I hope you find this place fun and enjoyable, and seeing as we are both starting out, if you want to buddy up and encourage each other, then I'm all for it!!!

I agree with everything already written. I've been losing weight for about a year and have lost about 87lbs. Like you, I was living a sedentary lifestyle (and chips were also my weakness). But with perseverance you'll start to see a difference straight away and in a few months you won't even recognise yourself.

Sometimes it's an uphill battle but it is so worth it. Good luck, Kaye.

Hey! It's sounds like we have a lot in common. My name is Katie and i just joined! I currently work sitting down all day in a chair and I'm never active. I currently smoke 17 cigarettes a day but committed to quitting on September 20th!!! It's time for a change!! I'm not a morning person and I hate exercising after work. So recently I have been pushing myself to wake up at 6am so next week I can start to workout early morning. I have my sisters wedding coming in march and I'm getting married next September so I have a yr to lose 40lbs and keep it off!!!
