Hi everyone, I am new to this group. I was diagnosed with type 2 about 6 years ago after losing about 100lbs. I am trying to find ways to "evict" diabetes from my life and the only starting point is losing weight. I have about 50 lbs to lose until I reach my target weight but it is really hard now. It doesn't matter what I try, nothing seems to make any difference.
I stopped smoking almost 12 months ago and have put on 10 lbs since. I work out on a cross trainer for at least 30 mins everyday. Besides getting fitter, there is no weight lose. Any advice gratefully accepted.

I was having the same problem. Was wondering if you count calories and keep track of what you eat. My doctor suggested that since I do those things that if I eat the same amount of calories all the time that my body will and has got accustomed to that amount...she suggested that I change the amount every so often to jolt my metabulism and just keep chugging along. I am wheel chair bound and I use the shake weight for my arms and do other exercises on my lower extremities. Doing that with my diet has worked for me. Just thought I would maybe give you another option or at least something for you to consider. Nice to see you in the My Net Diary Community.

Everyone is different in how they respond, but I know for me I seem to have more weight loss on weeks I can push exercise past 40 minutes compared to 30 minutes a session.

Maybe try a few longer workouts?
