Anyone have problems when scanning bar codes and having different nutritional info than what is on package pop up? This has happened more than a handful of times (and the info from here is ALWAYS lower: fewer calories, lower fat, etc). I'm having to either re-enter info or adjust my recorded serving size to compensate.

Hello Gigigirl- I wish I could say this never happens, however that's just not true. There are several explanations as to why the bar code scanner comes up with different nutritional information:
1, Food vendor changes. The Nutrition Facts panel can change due to a change in ingredients and/or serving size. Staff tells me that they typically see that vendors update foods yearly.
2. Human error. MyNetDiary has a great Food Data Research Team but they are human. Occasionally, the team might experience an oversight error or an initial error during data entry. However, double-entry is performed so this type of error is not common with MND foods.
3. Restaurant foods. If you notice that MyNetDiary contains restaurant data that appears to be outdated, then please email Support a link to the updated nutrition information from the restaurant's website. As well, if your favorite restaurant is not in the database, you can email Support a link to the restaurant's nutrition information. Support will not enter nutrition information from an outside source - it needs to be from the restaurant.
4. Something may be wrong with your barcode scanner, though it sounds like your scanner is working however the numbers you see when entered are different than those on the label.
What to do:
1. Follow instructions for PhotoFood Service. Here is an article that describes this helpful function: https://www.mynetdiary.com/faq.do
2. You can also contact support directly if there is a food that you have noticed is incorrect. Support is at Support@mynetdiary.com
