I try to talk to others who have made the same committment to keep active/eat better. I also try to get to the gym before I go home...once I'm home...it's so hard to get back out!

Help!!!! I need a talking to. I seem to be losing motivation in the exercise portion of my program. I was doing so good, then holidays, and a change of program, and I am failing. Nor sure how to get my head in the right place to get back on track again. I am thinking of kinda starting over, by changing my weight training again. I really am finding the new one a little to hard. Also, just making sure I exercise 30 minutes a day, and then working it up again from there. Is that really a step backwards or the right idea to get back on track. I was doing 1.5 hour weight training/cardio workout three days a week and 45-60 min cardio 3 days a week. But since holidays, it is hit and miss. mostly miss. Any suggestions that are better??

The most important thing one can do is to make it a daily habit (the same time every day regardless of personal events or holidays). Pick a time of day when it is extremely unlikely that you will be disturbed by family/friend/work commitments and block that time out. I use 24 Hour Fitness and I simply pick a time each day, usually early morning, when I go in and weigh myself then exercise, but prior to eating anything. The weight loss/maintenance and body changes you see on a consistent basis will be motivation in itself. If an emergency occurs obviously that comes first. However, when being asked for commitments from others, they must be informed that you have this time blocled out 'religiously' and cannot be disturbed...this is YOUR time to better your body and spirit. I would also variate the exercise routine (change machines, perhaps attend a Yoga or Pilates class to break up the routine and make it fresh). It is all up to you at this point.

I have never thought of the "religious" commitment. I will have to try and get my own head around that idea first before I use it with others. I have had a much better week with exercise this week. I think cutting back that little bit made the difference. the 1.5 or more hour was just a little to much. Just cut it back to one hour max and so far I am doing better. Thanks so much for the reply. It always helps to get feed back from others.
I am going to try and find more info on your 24 hour fitness . I am always interested and seeing what others are doing for exercise.

Well. I use a supplement called super pump. I train with weights so donor really know if u should take it if you r doin cardio only. It is an energy booster and Gets u in the mood to go to the gym. Works for me especially I when I come back from office tired.
Also I believe takin multivitamin reduces the feeling of fatigue and laziness.

I have found a way, doesn't suit everyone but I now cycle to and from work it's an hour each way so gives me my evening workout and is good for the environment.
