PANTRY ESSENTIALS Topic

Any pantry/fridge items you cannot go without? Please share!!

Some of my essentials include bag of power greens, tomatoes, fresh veggies (especially broccoli and kale), fresh mozzarella, eggs, Kirkland ready to eat bacon, natures harvest light whole grain bread, high fiber English muffins, dole dippers (dark chocolate covered pineapples), fiber one brownies...

Frozen fruits and veggies - cheap and always there when I need them.

Kind Arthur flours - they never fail me.

Eggs - versatile in cooking and yummy all on their own

Cottage cheese - the only dairy product that doesn't fight back :)

Wheat germ - a nice added crunch to many things, healthy and flavorless when mixed with other things

Granola - very filling and yummy to boot

Golden raisins - a good sub for nuts in many recipes and excellent for those "I need something sweet!" moments

Old fashioned oats - Great for a quick breakfast when you don't have time, 1 cup is 8g of fiber, add in 100ml of almond milk and put it in the microware for 60 seconds, sprinkling cinnamon on top and/or teaspoon of real maple syrup

Bananas - Great snack, pre/post workout, versatile, use in smoothies or for banana pancakes (1 smashed banana, 1 scrambled egg, mix)

Kiwi - Also a great snack, and full of fibre which I found really helps in breakfast

Greek yogurt - for breakfast as well, with kiwi or banana, also substitute for sour cream and mayonnaise when making salads (chicken or tuna salad)

Organic honey - can even mix it in coffee, gives it a great taste if a little but unusual at first, great over a bowl of fruit, oatmeal, greek yogurt, etc.

Maple syrup - use as honey above

Turkey or chicken breast slices

Almonds - other nuts are great too but I find almonds really help when I'm having a sugar craving

Dark chocolate - 65% or more, helps with sugar cravings and otherwise I believe quite good for you

Tuna in water or olive oil - great if you run out of ideas/things to cook before the grocery run ;) open it up and throw it over a green salad, eat alone or with a couple of eggs for lots of protein

Eggs, frozen vegetables, a small piece of parmigiana reggiano, juice, raw potatoes, fresh garlic, mushrooms, olive oil, jasmine rice, apples, oranges.
