Pondering Minor Defeat Topic

A week ago, I was celebrating a victory: I was only ounces away from crossing the halfway point in my journey!
I guess I got over confident and thought that I had this diet thing down.
I went out to eat once, a friend took me to an oriental restaurant. The meal consisted of skinless chicken, vegetables, and rice. I only ate about a 1/4 cup of the rice but I ate all of the other food, thinking that it wouldn’t matter because those are low calorie foods. I think that the mistake there must have been disregarding the sauce.

I did well at home, ending the next day have only consumed about 900 calories, I splurged on low carb ice cream. I was so far from my calorie goal that I only “eyeballed “ my serving instead of weighing it. I guess that also was a mistake.

Another failure was last night- stressed over problems at work, I broke down int he evening and stopped counting calories all together.

All combined, this resulted in a two pound gain that could add several weeks to my journey.

This week I will plan ahead. I’m having company on Monday for a cookout. I’ll preplan my menu for the week and I’m buying a portable scale so that I can stay on track when away from home.
