Protein Importance/how important is it Topic

If I get within 20 grams “less” of protein per day than is recommended, is that okay? I eat predominantly veggies, fruits, and a small amount of legumes but don’t really care for the way I feel with rice or pasta unless the pasta is an alternative that is higher in protein. And I do like brown rice. So I do pick up protein when I eat these but I don’t eat them often.
I am more interested in a Whole Foods Plant Based approach but I do eat a minimal amount of protein with hope as I drop weight I can safely go off all animal protein.
So my bottom line question is, how important is it if I am at least getting “within 20 grams” of the recommended amount of protein grams per day?
Any tips or advice appreciated. (•=

Example recommended grams of protein 70 grams and I take in say 45 to 50 grams from fruits, veggies, nut milk, eggs or small amounts of meat.

well it doesn't change weight loss that much as it kinda just comes down to calorie intake overall, however the more protein u have, the more u are fuelling ur muscles which is more beneficial for ur body than carbs or so which will just be burnt up and thats it. Think of protein like an investment to ur body? Itll keep u from getting "skinny fat" and keep ur metabolism up + keep u fuller. from experience i found when my diet is way more high protein rather than primarily carbs i am more toned and my waist is smaller, even if i am the same weight because its muscle weight rather than fat. I suggest a bit of weight training tho if u wanna get something out of it like just to tone up and itll make losing weight easier and then protein can go towards that. Hope this helps lol
