Hi U4927171, with diabetes, you can check your food record for carb count. Your carb goals are very typical for diabetes. Please read these articles so you understand what you can do with MyNetDiary:

Diabetes Basics: http://www.mynetdiary.com/food-diary-for-diabetes.html

Diabetes Tracker: http://www.mynetdiary.com/tracking-diabetes-with-mynetdiary.html

Automatic goal setting with MyNetDiary is consistent with the American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association guidelines. But we don't employ meal and snack carb goals. Using a food tracker allows you to pick and choose foods in meals according to your tastes and stil meet your carb goals - you enter the foods and check to see if they are within range.

Be sure to go to diabetes management classes too - ask your doctor for a referral to a class if your health insurance does not offer classes. Class is a very important part of your self-manangement. It is not enough (in my opinion as a diabetes educator) to just use a tracker - you need more self-management education to supplement the tracker.

Hi!!! I am going crazy by trying to find out how to see my vitamin intake. I love this app, although what i actually wanted is to track my vitamins and not really my calories. I had a loo at the upgrades (I have de free version) but I haven't seen any promise that it tracks your vitamins. It would be great if somebody could help me in that, I really don't want to have to download another app just because of the vitamin issue but I maybe I will have to do so.
Thanks!

I am looking for the vitamin tracking… what version do you have? I am wishing to get pregnant and I hope this add could help me as well in that. Please advise me how to see the vitamin track. Thanks!

To track total intake from all foods and supplements, log your vit/min supplement in your food log. You can use the barcode scanner to find your supplement - a lot of brands are already in the database. If you can't find your supplement as an existing food item, you can use PhotoFood Service to enter as a new food item, or manually enter your own.

To track nutrients that are not on the standard food label, if you use the iPhone PRO, you have the option of entering absolute values or %DV. If you use the web to enter extended nutrients, you have to use %DV for many vitamins/minerals (on web, you need Maximum subscription to do this).

FYI, Maximum subscription allows you to print and download extended nutrient reprots on web program.

For more tips on entering food items read article (from Library row in apps or on web using this link): http://www.mynetdiary.com/tips-and-tricks-for-entering-and-correcting-foods-in-mynetdiary.html

FYI -if a vitamin or mineral is listed on your food label in mg, g, ug, or mcg and MyNetDiary gives you the optoin of entering %DV or mg, g, ug or mcg, then your job is easy - just be sure to enter the "mg" or "g" or "mcg" etc with your value. But if MyNetDiary's fields only displays "%DV" as the entry option, then you have to know to calculate the %DV for that particular nutrient. See the list below for the nutrients you will most likely need to know how to convert to %DV:

Food Component DV
Vitamin A 5,000 International Units (IU)
Vitamin C 60 mg
Calcium 1,000 mg
Iron 18 mg
Vitamin D 400 IU
Vitamin E 30 IU
Vitamin K 80 ug or mcg
Thiamin 1.5 mg
Riboflavin 1.7 mg
Niacin 20 mg
Vitamin B6 2 mg
Folate 400 µg or mcg
Vitamin B12 6 µg or mcg
Biotin 300 µg or mcg
Pantothenic acid 10 mg
Phosphorus 1,000 mg
Iodine 150 µg or mcg
Magnesium 400 mg
Zinc 15 mg
Selenium 70 µg or mcg
Copper 2 mg
Manganese 2 mg
Chromium 120 µg or mcg
Molybdenum 75 µg or mcg
Chloride 3,400 mg

To convert your supplement label value to the %DV, divide the label value by the value found above and then multiply by 100 to get %.

For example:
1 pill provides 600 ug folate.
600 ug on label / 400 ug DV = 1.5
1.5 x 100 = 150% DV

So, enter 150 in the field, "%DV folate"

I am new to MyNetDiary. Lost 1Lb. in week. I am a Weight Watcher member as well. I would like to keep one tracking record. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can incorporate my daily Points Plus for WW into MND. Thank you Esta

Hi Esta, MyNetDiary does not track points, it tracks calories and nutrients. However, tracking with MyNetDiary might be a great learning tool to do in addition to tracking point to see how your food choices "add up" so to speak. I don't see a problem with doing both if you find the points system helps you make decisions.

Thank you for your help. I'm using MyNetDiary to better track what I'm eating and how it is effecting my weight loss. I have lost 40 lbs total and things were not moving. Hopefully I can figure out were I'm lacking in nutrient. I'm very impressed with this program and what its capable of doing. Looking forward to the menu program as this is one of my struggles.

Hi there! I've tried looking for an answer to this question elsewhere but couldn't find it, so please feel free to direct me there if there is one!

If I exercise and log calories for it, do my calories listed under meals adjust? I assume that on days I do a lot more exercise I should slightly up the amount of calories I'm eating to balance things out. Should I (on days like this) ignore that value (so depressing when it goes to -!) and go by the one in analysis instead?

Thanks, and I'm loving using this app already :D

Hi U5649290, yes, MyNetDiary will adjust upwards to account for exercise calories burned and it shows you the net calories in "Daily Analysis" row in apps or in Details tab on web.

You can read more about how calories are calculated at MyNetDiary by reading this article (also found in Library row in apps): http://www.mynetdiary.com/customizing-calorie-goals.html

I have the diabetes module. Under PLAN, carbs is fixed at 325g. When I go to CHART, everything shows Carbs below Plan since my target is 180g and not 325. In the FOOD TRACKER, it shows the correct Diabetes Carbs consumed and remaining, i.e.total 180. How do I change the plan from 325g per day to 180?
