Sept 2013 Topic

Kathy - Good! I continue to be more active (and healthy!) than I have generally been in years. I have continued to eat healthy and stick to my diet (except for a few social occasions that I've eaten and imbibed alcohol to excess!).

I've hit a moderate weight-loss plateau since mid-July, but I guess I couldn't expect to be consistently losing at the rate I was (~10 lb/month).

That said, I'm trying to keep a positive mental attitude -- by focusing less on my weight and more on the fact that I'm continuing to making good diet and exercise choices. If I continue to do that -- the weight should trend down over the long run. :)

YES - that is a great mindset, Rock-it-Scientist. There is no race, and healthful changes are important - even with the predictable weight stall we must all endure on our journey.
Best,
Kathy

Kathy glad you did not get washed away.

I would love the wrist fitbit but since I have mine now in a change purse on a lariat I don't loss it so will have to wait for an issue. If you get one let me know haw you like it. Fran

Fran! So good to hear from you! I lost my FitBit yet again for weeks on end and my husband just found it in the washing machine. Goodness only knows how many cycles it went through. I am drying it out now to see if it can be brought back to life.

Great idea with the purse- I have a lariat too so perhaps I can try that too. I get into trouble when I put it in a pocket for hikes and such.

The flood - my favorite trail is still drying out and there is still a huge sink hole blocking my passage off of a main little bridge on Coal Creek Trail. Not likely to be fixed until spring. But that is a small price to pay - no basement flooding due to a fantastic farmer's irrigation ditch bordering our town home complex!

Welcome back, Fran!
Kathy

Good luk with getting it to work again. I tried rie et. Never worked. Glad to here you did not get as much damage as you could have had. I am now licensed in AZ,passed the exam. That was stressful. Now working on FL. Have gained a little during this stressful time but that is only temporary.

Miss

Hi Fran, good to hear from you! My FitBit did not recover after the many cycles in the washing machine. I am finally putting it to rest. Might get the wristband version.

Are you casting your net wide for work/move or will licensing in other states allow you to work remotely?
Kathy

Have an interview next week in San Diego for Arizona They have a new wrist one.
Hey round trip from Phoenix to Denver are cheap so that is a plus! can visit my O family if I decide on this job

Fran, you HAVE to let me know when you visit Denver so we can meet up! Good luck with the interview.
Best,
Kathy

Thank you. Hope I can work out the walking if I move.
Would love to see you.
Trying to figure out how I will do without my Weight management group at the Hospital.
Have

been tightening up on weight control and seem to be losing some of the weight stress put on.Trying to understand how eating help stress when all it did for me was add to it!. It has to be the neuro-chemical released. For me,gaining is not stress release. Have about 5 more lbs to lose. That is doable. I have found even when I fell off the wagon I still weighed and that really helped.
