Share recipe with spouse...? Topic

I think you should sign in the web site, then find each other's personal page; at the bottom of that page there's a list of all food and recipes saved by that user.
Then you just have to click on "copy" to add that food or recipe to your account.

Hope it helps! :)

How has it been 6 years since this was suggested and it is still not implemented? This should be a must-have for families!

Greetings! Recipe sharing is available with premium membership on the iPhone and android app. To access this feature simply, View This Recipe, then tap Share at the bottom of the screen. You can share the recipe via Message, Email, Link, PDF, or Text.

It is also available on the web app, though is a bit different.
From the web app tap on the share icon in the upper right hand corner of the recipe photo. You can then copy and paste the link to share with others.

Here are the steps to Share recipes with other MyNetDiary members:
Login to the web app, select Community, select My Community Profile, checkmark Let Everyone Find My Custom Foods and Activities, and then tap Save. Once you do that, other members can find and copy your custom foods and recipes if they bring up your Personal Page (they can tap on your MyNetDiary nickname link in forum, or they can use the search box in Community). Your Custom Catalog is found at the bottom of your Personal Page. If a member selects Copy to the right of a recipe name, then it gets copied into that member's list of recipes. The copied recipe name includes "from xyz" at the very end of the recipe name, where xyz is the member's MyNetDiary nickname.

We at MyNetDiary are continually updating features and adding new ones. We appreciate feedback around areas you'd like to see modified! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Best, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

My partner and i have tried this link sharing ‘feature’ countless times and it does not work. He has an iPhone and I have an android. We have to dig into the community page every time to copy the recipe.

Hi U1188871036- I am sorry to hear the sharing feature is not working. I have passed along this information to our support team and asked them for a work-around, besides the community sharing and copying the recipe. When I hear back I will let you know. Stay tuned, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Hello U1188871036- I heard back from support and figured out the issue.
The share feature does not work between platforms. Meaning, since you have an android and your partner has an iPhone the sharing feature is not compatible.
We suggest these workarounds:
-Sharing via the community webpage
-The iMessaging of the recipes: https://www.mynetdiary.com/supportArticle.do?articleId=9201 article.
Sorry I was not able to provide the answer you were hoping for.
Take Care, Joanna (MyNetDiary Dietitian)

Can you describe the process using the phone app of how to receive the shared recipe that was sent via Email, Link, PDF, or Text?

As the recipient, how do you receive the recipe and add it into your own account? How do you capture it & where does it go?

Hi Kazoo-

Once you have the recipe (in the app) pulled up on your phone scroll down to the bottom and tap "Share." Next you will see a variety of ways to share the recipe.

My favorite way to share is via "SMS recipe" or text message.

Next type in the phone number or contact recipient address.

The recipe will appear and you will have all of the ingredients and steps available. Thus you can follow the recipe from your phone. If you want to import the recipe into your tracker (to track macros for example) you will need to have the app on your phone.
If you have more detailed questions about the process we have an awesome support team and they'd be happy to provide more information. Simply email them at support@mynetdiary.com
