New member to the 40 something group. Unfortunately, I don't have a very supportive family or many friends to help keep me on track throughout the year. Looking to meet some new friends that can help me throughout the 2013 year by being a motivator, providing encouragement , providing an ear to listen or providing honest feedback.

Hello all,
I'm a new member to this group and am looking for support as well as giving support to someone. I have a good support system at home but always think I am bugging my husband when I talk about weight loss. So, lets start this journey to reach our goal weight! Good luck to all !!

All the best ... joining MyNetDiary was a great first step and we all need to know that we have support. Joining a group like this is awesome -- I find that reading the so-and-so met their food intake or met their exercise goals to be motivating for me to do it too (especially the exercise part). I look forward to seeing more posts from all of you on how well you are doing.

Hi everyone. I'm glad to see an active group to chat with. Just starting "another" journey this week. I'm 43, struggled with weight issues and yo-yo dieting since being a teenager, and even though having made some awesome changes in my life in the last 2 years, I still find myself with 40/50 lbs to lose. I'm not going to worry about the exact number. I'll know it when I get there. I'd love to find some like-minded people to chat with, encourage, share ideas and do this thing once and for all!

Hi JD,
I think seeing other peoples goals and weight loss will be helpful as well. I see you do zumba. I have just added it to my 'repertoire' and LOVE it! I find mixing up my work outs and doing a variety really helps me to keep going! I look forward to talking to you.

Hi everyone. I'm 41 and need to lose 74 lbs. as a new year resolution, I've decided to log everything I eat and try to stick to the daily amount. I am giving myself eight months to accomplish it.
This first week was going great, losing six pounds in six days was very motivating. Yesterday I decided to take a day off, but when I weighed this morning, I gained 3.6lbs after my BM. So lesson learned, I need to maintain physical activity throughout this journey (and stay away from Pizza H).
Take care friends. Keep logging!

It's the 10th of January ... how have you been doing? I haven't lived up to my exercise goals, but managing the food has been well. To those who are new to MND - don't give up on logging your food, it really helps. When I lose track of logging food (or only do it once a day), I find my weight stalls or goes up. MND is such a good tool to reinforce good habits. One trick when I feel week - find before/after pictures on the internet (MND, biggest loser, fitness magazine, etc.) It's motivating to see pictures of people who succeeded who are my same height/age/sitation.

Very, very happy to read your post on 6 lbs. Hope your "free day" was a nice break and you are back on track today. Read somewhere that everyone should have one meal a week where you don't weight/measure/track. Keep up the good work - you are close that first 10 lb goal!

BJ - love your comment about not worrying about an exact number. I feel exactly the same way. A little about myself now to explain, I started MND in 2011 and lost about 15 lbs - stopped logging food and stayed within 5 lbs of where I stopped until Christmas. In 2012, lost the next 15 lbs and stayed within 5 lbs normally until holidays. I am about 20 lbs lower than I was 2 years ago, 10 lbs less than last year, and I see that I can get to that next lower level in 2013. It's a journey and realizing that I have to want to get there for myself is so important. I just need to stay active and log my food on MND. I look forward to reading more of your stories ... so glad you found Zumba! It's just fun!
