Sync Delay Between the App (Android) and the Website Dashboard Topic

Hi MND,

What is the sync delay between the the App (Android) and the Website Dashboard? I entered my lunch in the App and I don't see it reflected on the Web even after half an hour. What is the sync delay on the DB these two services are connecting to?

Also the step count from fitbit is different on the web and the app. Seems like the App is behind a bit.

Thanks!

hmmm....not sure if this is a bug or not. I restarted the App and it synced. Until then it wasn't syncing.

I'm looking for a solution to this, too. The website syncs with my Fitness tracker better and has more up to date "calories burned/calorie budget" numbers, but I enter most of my foods on the app so that has more up to date "calories consumed." With apps I've used in the past there was a sync command in the menus, but I haven't found a way to force a sync with MyNetDiary's app and website yet. Restarting my phone works, but there has to be a better way than restarting several times a day.

Hello dear MND users,

In case you need to quickly force a sync between MyNetDiary and FitBit, please access the Settings in your website account and navigate to Apps and Devices - Fitbit Settings. There will be a Verify Link button that immediately forces a sync.

The sync between the mobile app and website can only be obstructed by a weak internet connection. Some users will see the sync within 5-10 minutes while the others have to wait a little longer. There is not much we can do here, as long as the platforms sync at all. If they are not syncing at all - you are probably using 2 different accounts on the website and mobile app.

Let us know at support@mynetdiary.com if that is the case. Thank you!

Hello support team.

I have this same issue where I will sometimes all day long log foods and it won't show up in the web until that night or the next day.

I assume you are using different data stores for app data and web data and syncing them on a schedule I have had similar issues in the past with this design. Easily fixable whatever is going on.

AWESOME JOB with this app overall, I am a big fan.

Hello Jason59,

Sorry about the trouble, and thank you for reaching out.

I just checked your account with us, and it's not linked to Fitbit.

Please connect to your Fitbit profile and let us know if you have the same issue by emailing support@mynetdiary.com.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

I have noticed this issue as well. Sometimes the Android MyNetDiary app seems to "give up" on networked communications for a while, and it won't upload or download recent changes, and will return suspiciously few search results in food searches. Force-closing the Android app and restarting it usually gets it unstuck, but it would be nice if that wasn't necessary.

Dewi,

Please email support@mynetdiary.com - we'll investigate.

Sincerely,
