Ok so I know the less processed the better but I have found some really good items that are low calorie or lower than ther counterpat. I know that this might be offenesive to some who Just eat a natural item. This post is not to debate the pro and cons of that issue. It is to list iems that if we wanted to try were deemed adequatebe oneof us. I cannot garrantee you all will like these beause we all have our own criteria. Mine in some cases is this or nothing due to calories. I have no affiliation to any of these companies just things I stumbled on. I was wondering if anyone else had stumbled on other half way good lower calorie items. I have three that I have to have in the house. Remember not "natural" but for me good. 1. fiber gourmet pasta-130 calories per serving which considering that pasta is normally 210 per serving that is huge for me. Taste very similar to regular pasta but might need to cook longer for some. It is high fiber. 2. pb2 for me 2 tbsp on peanut butter for 45 calories is great. need to reconstitute but amazingly similar . I do add 1 pack of sweetener to it as I like peter pan-lol. Can have it without guilt. 3 skinny cow ice cream bar truffles-a good 100 calories. I have tried other items that I deemed awful to me, a I am sure some of you have. Let me know if anyone has items they have restocked in their homes as low calorie replacement items. And please, don't hate me for not using only "natural items-lol. I need to keep this 140 pounds off.- Fran

Okay Fran here are a couple of my always in the house list.....Some are not low calorie though
Popchips! Same calories as other chips, but no saturated fats, and they taste great. Orville Redenbackers Smart Pop Butter. Low in calories, saturated fat, but higher than I like in sodium. Frozen Yogurt. Yep I am a frozen Yogurt fan. I stop at shops and have them package smalls cups for me to bring home. I used to love all of Skinny Cows stuff until I found good Fro Yo. Now I have more with the same amount of calories.
I will ponder some more and see if I can come up with others.

I'd love to help but I doubt we share any products. I'd love to have the selection you have in the states. :)

We're more nutella people ;) Although I haven't had it for over 10 years.
My daugther loves pb/jelly. Probably because my exwife is American. ;)

I can say I have never had a pb/jelly sandwich in my life. I was in a past life a pb and marshmallow fluff girl. Have a goood day-Fran

More "healthier" processed foods (same goes for me - I am not promoting these, just sharing stuff that I like now and then):
Quaker Oats Rice cakes - caramel or chocolate
8 Stauffer's Animal Crackers + 1 tbsp dark choc chips (about 2-3 chips/animal cracker)
Any low fat churned ice cream, 1/2 cup (measured)
1/3 cup low fat cottage cheese, 1 tsp Nutella, on about 4 water crackers
I haven't tried PB2 - I'll check it out!
Best,

Was wondering how the chocolate rice cakes were and didn't want to buy another dud so thank you. I am having trouble measuring the ice cream as mine is rock hard any tips? I really want to try PB2 and chocolate but have not yet so have no comment on that YET. Look at the fiber gourmet pasta too. not sure how it compared to dream fields are I have never tried that one.

I *love* my PB2. Can't live without it after reading about it on a blog that I follow (runnerskitchen). And, my neighborhood family-owned market happens to carry it. I have the chocolate and regular flavors in my house always.
When I have to have chips, I always reach for Popchips. Fewer calories and less sodium than regular chips, but also taste good and a serving is about 25 chips instead of some measly 10. :D
