The dreaded plateau… Topic

54 yo male. I’ve been using MyNetDiary off and on for 10+ years and always loose some weight while using it; but then I get cocky and stop using it and before I know it, I’m heavier than ever.
This past March (2022) I decided to give it another go and plan to stick with it this time. It’s been about 7 months now and I am down 50 pounds this round (60 down from my heaviest ever), lost 6” off my waist, and never felt better! I do have a “cheat day” now and then (like once or twice a month for a special occasion or something), but for the most part, sticking to my tracker, logging EVERYTHING, and weigh in everyday.
At 50 pounds down and 7 months in, I have finally hit the dreaded plateau 😬. I’ve been stuck at 170 pounds for 2 weeks. I’ve had a few blips here and there over the last 7 months where the scale didn’t move for a few days, but after 2-3 days, it would start dropping again. I am pretty sedentary and have no plan/ability to increase activity in a sustainable way. Help!

Don’t worry about a plateau! Just keep working yourself even if you don’t lose weight. Working out is not all about losing weight, it’s about staying healthy. If you are only working out to lose weight then I understand but either way just keep going at it my friend! Sent with much love!

Hi I feel your worry I’ve hit that part too, and had a bad few days of being ill and eating poorly. Hence putting on a small amount. But I’m determined to get down to my goal, blips will happen I too am sedentary just keep your head up and keep going. 👍

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am sticking with it. I’ve been at it long enough this time that it has become my routine and I enjoy it. Using MyNetDiary has become like a game for me. I work hard to figure out how to get the most bang for my caloric buck.

Have one binge day every 2 weeks, go crazy! Your metabolism is probably slowing down from having less food so having the cheat day keeps it guessing. Small gain for a bigger loss.
