This program really works! Topic

I started a week ago and lost 8 pounds without torturing myself! Most of it water, I suppose, but still encouraging. In addition, I'm eating a much more balanced diet and I feel great. "Only" 77 more pounds to go.

I wish I could say it works. Though I certainly can't say it doesn't. I've been entering food, insulin, and glucose. Just haven't bought a scale yet. Guess I'm waiting to see if I'm serious.

I have met my first goal, or I should say almost because I should give it a month. My first goal was to log and keep track of my eating, glucose, and insulin.

Negatives are that my roommate-my sister- is going through a rough time and doesn't want to talk. Also I just started with new doctors, I'm waiting for two weeks for my physical with my new internist, and my endocrinologist is over 600 miles away. And ... Long story about my insulin. Anyway, logging is working REAL well to keep track of the effects of chosen snacks on glucose when insulin changed. If you can't see my loggings, especially notes on glucose readings, please let me know how to change that. I can't chat with anyone if you can't see what I'm talking about--- even if we need to go off to our own group. Old question-- anyone there?

Hello Judy,

Buy a scale! Nothing more inspiring than watching the pounds drop off. I started four weeks ago and have lost 16 pounds. After the first spurt, which was mainly water loss, I am losing a steady 2 pounds/week. I took my BMR and subtracted it from my maintenance level. That gave me about 1,000 calories per day (i.e. 2 pounds/week) which is the amount I can lose safely without losing non-fat tissue. I cannot help you with diabetes and glucose because I am not tracking it. I have a diabetes type two but that is probably being the result of being too fat and should diminish or diappear. Only another 66 pounds left... Good luck! Frankie
