treating myself as a rebellious teenager Topic

Hi, I'm just starting out this week and have some ideas of how I'm going to do things "different" this time..
I'm completing my first week on MND without changing too much.. with the intent of 'tweaking' things weekly, but small attainable tweaks. One of my main problems is "rebelling" like a bad teenager every time I 'tell' myself that I'm on a diet so I'm going to treat myself psychologically like I treat my own 17 year old to avoid rebellious behaviour. Small acceptable, barely noticeable behaviour changes until before I know it. I'm slim, trim and healthy!!
I don't know how it's going to work but hopefully I'll turn out as great as my teenager :)
Would love to get some feedback, advice, comments!

Again, BJ ... love your attitude! I have started reading the book The Sugar Blockers Diet by Rob Thompson, MD. Very interesting discussion on just what you said ... if you change too much, it's hard. If you only have to focus on a few things, it's easier. Good luck!

I always preach about the consequences to my teenager. I too act like a rebellious teenager. I grab my consequences( jiggly thighs) about once a week as a reminder of my rebellious behavior. That has kept me on the straight and narrow. Good luck! You can do it!

I'll have to check out that book. I'm trying to be aware of why I'm doing things and not to feel guilty about them. It's the guilt that sets me stupid every time!! I'm doing fine just tracking everything. It's interesting to see my reluctance to journal everything.. it's like my mind is saying "if you don't journal it, you didn't really eat it.. no one will ever know" So that's my focus right now, my 'little' step.. is to journal everything.. even if I'm embarrassed by it. If I'm embarrassing myself, to myself.. you know there is some issues to work out.. lol. I'm a work in progress :)

We are all a work in progress!! I feel the same way about journaling my food. Ugh! I am committed to being more disciplined in a lot of areas...we can do this!!

Hi everyone - I can see bits of me in all your comments, it's bittersweet to know I'm not alone...know what I mean?
My 'small' step is being measurably active six days a week and journaling everything I eat too. Praying for consistency!
So glad to check with you-
