Wake Up Call - Osteoarthritis Topic

Was diagnosed with advanced Osteoarthritis of both hips and developing in both knees... 30 years of going up and down stairs at work seems to have caught up with me. Surgery is the last thing I want and so the pounds need to come off, but exercise is really tough on the joints! Anyone out there dealing with this?

I have found the most effective way to loose weight is to set yourself a two pound per week weight loss goal and us this program to count every calorie you consume. And stop eating when or before you reach your target. Exercise is good by only I'm moderation and you have to work up to it.

Hi Lyding, I have been diagnosed with really aging knees. And just like you, operating on both my knees are the last thing I wanna do. Walking is not good for me so what I have done lately is swim or go on the stationery bike. 1 hour of vigorous breast strokes will help be burn 800 ++calories. And if I do wanna walk in the park, I would use my knee braces. I am only 50 and I definitely wanna use both my knees as long as I can. So keep on going and I wish you all the best.
